About

Beatriz is defined by her passion. She strives to live an inspired, meaningful life and believes life is far too complicated to not pay it forward. She is a free soul, wife, aspiring psychologist, avid yoga practitioner, and design enthusiast. Born in South America, her Peruvian and Colombian roots provide a solid grounding in the importance of family, good friends, and good food. She was raised primarily in Houston, Texas and completed her undergraduate and graduate work at Texas A&M University.

Beatriz is currently completing her PhD in Counseling Psychology and helps individuals find a new perspective and a deeper understanding of themselves through therapy. She uses a humanistic, integrative approach that allows her to grasp the complexity of each person's unique experience in the world. Her goal is never to impose a "right" way of doing things, but rather uses her expertise to assist the person in their own self-discovery to determine what is appropriate for them. She has a special interest in women's issues and hopes to assist all individuals to challenge and redefine their measure of self-worth. Her goal is to leave others with a renewed perspective, deeper self-understanding, and greater confidence when navigating a sometimes unpredictable world.

When not doing therapy, Beatriz spends a great deal of her free time focusing on her passion of wellness. To balance her life's demands, she practices ashtanga  yoga and enjoys running outdoors with her dog. Although she is often working on different projects, she is currently doing research on equine assisted psychotherapy in the treatment of veterans with PTSD,  works as a doctoral psychology intern at the University of Houston, and most of all, focuses on living an adventurous, purposeful life with her husband.
