About
Beatriz Craven is defined by her passion. She is a newlywed, aspiring psychologist, avid yoga practitioner, and design enthusiast. Born in South America, her Peruvian and Colombian roots provide a solid grounding in the importance of family, good friends, and good food. Beatriz was raised in Houston, Texas and completed her undergraduate and graduate work at Texas A&M University. She is currently completing her doctoral degree in Counseling Psychology. Beatriz specializes in eating pathology, self-esteem, and sense of self-worth. She focuses on client strengths and positive traits and utilizes an integrative approach due to the unique quality of each client and the need for flexibility to provide the highest quality of care. When not doing therapy, Beatriz spends a great deal of her free time focusing on her passion of wellness. To balance her work and school, she practices power yoga and Bikram yoga. She also trail runs regularly in the company of the other Love of her life, her dog Nismo. Beatriz seeks positivity and inspiration from all areas of life and even integrates psychology with interior design by creating environments that evoke a sense of peace and warmth. Beatriz’s philosophy in life is to be put together from the inside out. She believes in paying it forward and living life in all its beauty. Although she is often working on different projects, she is currently doing research on equine assisted psychotherapy in the treatment of veterans with PTSD, facilitates an ANAD support group for individuals with eating disorders, teaches psychology at Lone Star College, writes her blog on daily inspirations, That Girl in Pearls, and most of all, focuses on being a joyous newlywed.
